Williamsburg Market will pause its operations for two hours on Saturday morning, March 28. We are pleased to support the No Kings nationwide protest by pausing our business 9AM – 11AM that day.
We are happy to stand up for our constitution which has helped our community to prosper over the past 250 years.
We believe public officials should serve the common good and not use their offices to enrich themselves. It is imperative that good people speak up when we see this happening. Silence will be interpreted as permission for further bad actions from leaders.
We believe government has an important role in securing our freedoms. People often talk about freedom as being the absence of constraints: no regulations, no rules. We’re thinking of “freedom to,” as in creating the conditions where people can thrive:
- Government should support freedom to express yourself as you wish
-Government should support fair marketplaces in which you’re free to participate
-Government should support education and institutions where you are free to learn and grow toward your highest potential.
Thank you for your support,
Steve Smith and Sean Mallari, Officers of Williamsburg Market Inc.
