What are the differences between green and purple asparagus?

Flavor:

Purple asparagus has a slightly sweeter and nuttier flavor compared to green asparagus.

Appearance:

Purple asparagus is characterized by its vibrant purple color, while green asparagus is much more common and has a green hue.

Nutritional Profile:

Both green and purple asparagus are very nutritious; however, because of its purple color, purple asparagus has more antioxidants.

Cooking:

Green and purple asparagus can be cooked similarly, but purple asparagus may lose its color when cooked. It's recommended to cook purple asparagus more quickly to avoid losing its color.

Popularity:

Green asparagus is much more common and can be easily found at supermarkets. Purple asparagus is the more uncommon of the two; however, it's growing in popularity due to its vibrant color and unique flavor.

These differences can help you choose whether green or purple asparagus is best for you!
